changing my bow - your thoughts

Hi all, have currently got a Merlin Nova limited edition (nice bow) but am thinking of changing to maybe one of their T5's (cant afford the X series).
I'm interested to find out what you guy's think ? What would you recomend ?

I know its a pretty general question as many people have there favorites Hoyts, merlins, pse's etc etc.

A lot depends on why you feel you need the change? Give us a bit more info on why you NEED a new bow?

Yep definectly need to know, why you feel like a new bow (because you do, is a perfectly acceptable answer as well )

My personal fav, and i'm a recurver, are the BowTech's.
I can honestly say that these are the only compound ever (and i've tried most) that has wavered my conviction of being a recurver.

Rule of thumb : Try everything! Try everything more than once! (if you can!)

Thanks for the replies. The main reason is the weight of the Nova, I feel something lighter and with cams as opposed to wheels (for more let off) would help. I'm fine on anything upto 60 yds but then things start to go abit pear shaped....

At 80yds arrows go to the right and I've run out of adjustment on my sight (toxonics) to get to 100!!!

Maybe all it needs is a good service, new strings etc, but I'm afraid a shiny new bow holds more apeal, after all I'm a boy who likes his toys

Hmmmm

OK how much let off do you want? No more than 65% is really recomended for target archery. Round wheels are smoother, but slower. If you need to shoot longer distance, then yes a faster bow will help a lot.

With regard to arrows going right at 80 yds, sounds like you centre shot is in need of some adjustment.

New toys, bring em on. The first point alone gives you good enough reason. Don't forget to budget for new arrows too.

It seems when Hoyt bring out a new bow they end up on back order for months, the burning speed of my cash would could stand the wait.

RGS are you Coming Back Allready the draw of Dard side is Strong

We should all club together and see if we can get a discount for buying several bows - put me down for an allegiance or an equalizer dam cant decide.
