Spring Rest and Kurley Vanes

During last nights indoor shoot my Golden Key Premier rest started to lose spring tension until I think it gave up the ghost and no longer supports the arrow.

I am thinking about getting a Trophy Taker as there is almost nothing to go wrong with it. Will it be possible to shoot my navs which use Kurley Vanes and get good clearance or is it best to strip them off and just bang on some Easton Diamonds?

They may clear if you index the nocks carefully, but my money is on the later option...better still..let the new rest strip the Kurley vanes off for you, save you a job, then simply fit some Eastons or similar

Whether it does or doesent strip your fletchings is a ?, depends on your setup, i have shot kurlys and not had a problem on some bows but they stripped on others so i went to normal vanes. I always use normal vanes now, they need less upkeep.

I have PM you by the way.

cheers

You'll drive yourself nuts trying to get vane clearance with Kurly Vanes on a spring steel launcher. I know because I tried.

In the end I went back to Bohning X vanes, the smallest shield cut ones and solved most of the problems.

Better yet, in my humble view is find a decent drop away and use that instead.
