Beiter nocking points Hi Folks. Just a quick question to you compounders. Have any of you tried the beiter nocking points (the ones that are served into the string) on a compound bow (with D-loop)? or are they strictly for recurve bows? Any benefit to them? Cheers, Chris.

Hi chryd, I don't think there would be any advantage as the 'D' loop itself does for a compound what the Beiter nocking point does for a recurve, you'd simply be adding more weight to the string for no advantage. I suppose those shooting limited compound might find it useful, but the string angles on compounds are alot sharper than on recurves, so I imagine breakage would become a problem on most bows.

I use the Beiter Hunter (symetrical) In/Out nocks, but I know several compounders who use the asymetric (recurve) nocks and are achieving sub 20 handicaps!

I have the Beiter nock with a D-loop. It's as good a solution as anything else. A bit of a faff to get on the string, but otherwise no problems. I also use Beiter Hunter nocks. I like the setup. You pays your money and takes your choice... Oh and if you want points of reference, I've only shot a 1092 FITA and a 560 Portsmouth. I would do a lot better if I shot more often... ![]()
