Windstalker & Allegiance

I have been using my Allegiance with a Windstalker now for several months and have just removed it this week. I have gone back to my standard cable guard for the following reasons:

- It increased the held weight from 65% to 50%

- It shortened the draw length by about 1/2"

- While it did reduce the shock, fitting an STS seems to have done the same.

The only disadvantage I have found is that there is reduced clearance of fletchings with the standard one fitted. I am shooting 4" feathers and have been able to shoot #### feather up on my free fall rest without problem. I have had to turn the nock to obtain the clearance since going back to the original.

I tried several different positions with the Windstalker, even getting advice from the manufacturer in the USA. I used the sight mount and the original hole, none of the positions would get the held weight back down to 65%

I suppose it could be done by altering the stop position, however I did not feel confident enough to mess around too much.

Removing it seems to have had a positive effect on my shooting. I am sure this works well with other bows but I have found that the STS was a much better buy for the allegiance.

I haven't really seen the Windstalker, but this sounds like the draw stop is not allowing the bow to come fully into the valley. If the draw length has shortened by 1/2" without the bow being adjusted then it will still be on the slope on the way down to the valley. Hence 50% let off.

Alex.

I have two STS units both bought from missarchery on ebay.com America for about $35, lancaster also sell them but the postage and vat and parcel farce rip off charges can cost quite a bit extra from Lancaster.

Lancaster also sell the double STS

Try The Archery Company they stock a similar type for £30 I have never seen it but if you ask for photos etc they may be able to send you them, unfortunately the website does not show the unit and neither does CSS' site

But when I emailed them they did tell me the price

I bought the STS off ebay.

I have an ANTS sight with the cable guard holder and tried many different settings. Nothing worked.
