Have a look at the Clickers archery long . It's a multi tube with 5 mm rods with an end weight. Multi rods without an end weight do suffer in the wind due to their longer lenght and greater side area that it brings.

Perhaps the airfoils should be at 45 degrees, two above horizontal and two below so the resultant force is horizontal into the wind.

Or,how about some ducting on a tripod that driects air round the bow to the opposite side, blowing enough air to cancel the true wind. Now that has to be a winner!! Plus, I can see no flaws in the reasoning.!! And in case FITA or GNAS get worried, I'll disguise it as a telescope.
Geoff, all you need is a symetrical rod airfoil section, and the rod needs to freely rotate on its axis. Now get to it and make a million!

Pyroarch57, you got me there. I don't follow that. You'll have to draw me a picture to look at.

Said it before and I'll say it again: IMO multi rods catch too much wind. Simon Tarplee, for one, certainly agrees - he swaps between 3 or 4 different rods on windy days to find the set-up which works best.

Geoff, a perfectly symmetrical airfoil section ( the whole rod) will have equal lift top and bottom, so it will remain very stable in the wind. Allowing the rod to rotate could be an added benefit as the airfoil will always be pointing directly into the oncoming airflow. To achieve this you would probably have to mount it with a ball bearing. Hope that`s a bit clearer

I an using a 33" Beiter on my Tribute and on windy days I have ended up putting on a £12 Cartel carbon with crappy doinker and still shooting better, I have been considering changing the whole setup to a Short 26" or even less carbon rod with some end weights. I must say even with the carbon a compound bow is like holding up a billboard they do not half catch the wind.

I did notice when I shot using an OK stabiliser it was not affected by the wind as much as the beiter one I had just taken off.
I think this may have been because the rods on the OK stab. are set further apart. Also it was a lot lighter.
Was'nt there a carbon stabiliser on the market a while ago that was oval in section and pushed as being better in the wind?

The best i`ve ever shot on a windy day was when i removed my longrod and screwed on a 10" heavily weighted rod. My scores were markedly better.

Was the TASA any good? Is this the one that the quality of manufacture was a bit suspect?
That aside,I would be interested in how it actually performed.
