| As far as i know/heard. Multi rods are more suseptible to wind and they move a bit more. I read it either here or on archerytalk. Seb. | |||||||||||||

| Yeap, thats what I'm just starting to notice.... wind last week was bad and I couldnt help notice that it 'felt' like the multi rod just acted as a wind tunnel.... I noticed on another thread Adam mentioned that he uses different setup indoor/outdoor due to the wind.

| People were also saying that the wind would "go through" the rods and reduce the drag but the total surface area is greater than a single rod which increases drag. I cant give anymore advice than this because I'm a noob to the sport. ![]() What you could do though, maybe, is try some one elses single rod and see if it makes a difference. Seb. | |||||||||||||

| We need an airfoild shaped rod/multi rods so the stronger the wind the greater the lift. Then direct the lift into the wind to cancel it out. Problem solved! ![]() | |||||||||||

| I've ben playing around with a whole host of different stab combinations and have settled on a 30"Beiter w a 4" extender as an offset rod With my [currrent] bow the Doinkers [34 or 30] are a little heavy and a little tippy for aiming comfortably even though they feel best on the shot[v solid] The Beiters IMV as well as being lighter benefit from better weight distribution and provide a nicer balance Vibrachecks are proving too light in my current setup although great w the Bowtech Not certain if the wind issue is too significant given that the thing the wind blows around most is the archer ...and I suspect that any benefits in sacrificing the best balance for a little less wind resistance are not proven I do believe though that stab combinations are very dependent on bow weight, length and whether the bow is reflex/neutral or deflex as all these ultimately determine which setup will balance your bow best Often wondered when people have 'halleluja!' moments with new bows whether it isn't simply just that all their accessories suit the new bow better The best thing about stabs is that everyone has some so you should borrow and try everything you can lay your hands on | |||||||||||||

| Zanda, once I have worked out how to direct lift horizontally into the wind, there will be no lift left so the bow will be as steady as it is on calm days. Perhaps the airfoils should be at 45 degrees, two above horizontal and two below so the resultant force is horizontal into the wind. Or,how about some ducting on a tripod that driects air round the bow to the opposite side, blowing enough air to cancel the true wind. Now that has to be a winner!! Plus, I can see no flaws in the reasoning.!! And in case FITA or GNAS get worried, I'll disguise it as a telescope. ![]() | |||||||||||

| ....it's sitting on my recurve along w the monkey bars and twins late night messing around w bows led to the discovery that the set up which wasn't quite working on the wheelie bow was brilliant on the Helix ! | |||||||||||||
