What's in the Carter Ember? The next project will be to turn the Carter Ember through 90 degrees, hopefully. Does anyone know what's inside, to save me from reinventing the wheel?? ![]() Last edited by geoffretired; 18-12-06 at 08:34 AM..

| How do you mean turning it through 90 degrees? not quite understanding that? | |||||||||||||||||||||||

Sorry to be so vague. I have made a few release aids where the jaw fits through the d-loop without twisting it when the back of the hand is against my face. It's done by having the hook/jaw at right angles to the normal set up. With most hand held releases, if you place them flat on a table, the jaw/hook will move parallel to the table surface. I want to turn them through 90 degrees so the jaw would move upwards from the table or downwards towards it. I've managed to make versions like the Loesch and Carter evo with 90 degree turns to the action. The Ember is so nice to use I fancy trying to make a 90 degree version next.
Hi Geoff Maybe you can try to find it at http://www.google.com/patents if you do a search for "CARTER ENTERPRISES INC back tension" There are three Carter patents showing up, don't know if yours is one of them. Opa

Thanks for that Opa, I will give that a try. I should be able to adapt some of it once I can see the functions of the different components.

I tried Carter Enterprises but keep getting the wrong release aids, but thanks for your help once again.
