New Compound Only Club on the Moon

With the announcement that the UK maybe rejoining the space race, launching a probe to the moon in 2010, I thought it would be a good time to start a new compound only archery club.

As I have nothing else to do with my 1 acre of land on the moon, I thought an archery club would be better than a sailing club.

OK so I appreciate there maybe some technical issues like:

- what weight piles will I need?
- will the recoil from the compound bow send me flying backwards as fast as the arrow goes forwards?
- how will I fasten my popup shelter to the surface?
- what happens if I have a missfire and my release aid smashes the glass on my helmet?

There are small problems like transport to overcome but I am sure the GNAS technical guys will come up with something.

I know Tony and Simon at a shop would be happy to run a few coaching sessions - perhaps there is even an opportunity for them to open another shop

I just want to see how many would actually read the post before the mods cancel it - Everyone knows that the GNAS would not let me open a compound only club, we would have to invite the recurves and sticks in as well!

But surely GNAS wouldn't have jurisdiction, seeing as it's on the moon, and therefore a bit outside their geographical remit...

Don't think even FITA can have a position, we need a Federation Galactique de Tir a' Larc for that...

Good point - You would have to set up your own governing body...

Probably a good thing, as I expect it's extremely hard to get space suits in the 'correct' shade of green...

I think it should be GNAS as I am fairly sure the Moon is still part of the British Empire

We get our asses whooped at every other sport so by controlling archery on the moon we can at least make sure we have a chance!

Blast !!!! I forgot about the 'green' I am going to have to register silver as the club colour.

Does anyone know of a supplier of baseball caps that will fit over a space helmet?

And if GNAS insist on sticks being included, their boffins will have to come up with a 'pipe smoking' adapter for the helmet.
