Wales Archery in Crick has the 400s in stock. I bought half a dozen to try last October for about £36.00 inc. points and a dozen nocks.

Just had a good poke around the easton website but couldn't find their shaft selector program - i've only got the 2005 version that doesn't include these. Any idea how much an Axis FMJ would weigh, thinking 31in 45lbs (Spine chart says 400), with 100gn points? I know ACE's come out at 211gn, how much heavier would the Axis FMJ be?

I only shot mine for a couple of months before the indoor season, and did not have any nock problems, did damage 1 shaft when I hit it at 70M in the Wind it pushed the nock out of the side of the shaft, I don't think a uni-bush would have prevented that, even if they are a little more susceptible they are so cheap it is worth the risk.

I don't know if you had the same problem but I noticed they tend to pass through straw much further than carbon shaft's, My first shoot at 100yards I ended up with one of the softer club bosses and was passing through to the fletchings when the other guys acc's were only going in 6" or so, ended up putting 2 bosses on the stand, one positive they pull out really easily .

Allowing 24 grains for fletchings and 16 grains for RPS insert (makes 116 grn at point) that would be 455 grains .

For the Shaft selector Program Click on Downloads Button, was towards upper right of page, no 2007 shaft selector program yet but 06 is on there.

I shot them in to a six inch metal bound stramit boss at 20 yds. At the end of the portsmouth (X99) they were punching out of the back by about eight to ten inches of shaft. My Pro Eagle loves heavy arrows. And that was with new fresh spot on the boss.

Don't forget to use the Hunting selection on the shaft selector, Click the first column for weight computation. They are about 40 grains heavier than a 3-39 ACC.

But be careful about taking selections on the hunting page/charts they spine heavy.

You may actually be closer to 500 spine especially if you can loose any length, which with a 90 grain point is about 405 grains total.

Peter Not too hot on Recurves but If you are pulling 40lbs or have 30+ inch arrows I think you may be Ok as according to the easton shaft selector you are in 500+ spine territory, I would start a thread in the Recurve section see if we can not get a bit more interest the Axis FMJ, I I have recommended one of the recurve archers I shoot with look at them he is 31" and 40#, there is a huge choice of weights for the screw in point's which should aid tuning.
I was considering Axis FMJs for my recurve which is pulling 40# on a 29" shaft. According to the charts Easton include 500 spine arrows in the T6 chart, but where there are more sizes available they are giving 540-620 spine, so the 500 is almost certainly somewhat on the stiff side. I pondered on adding an extra 1/2", and using a slightly heavier point than the standard 90gr, but eventually decided that since sight marks at 100yds are not wonderful anyway (with ACC 3-04 680s) I didn't want to have the significant increase in weight, and possibly still have an arrow which is too stiff. I have therefore ordered a set of Navigator FMJs in the 570 size which should be spot on, lighter and thinner - No idea when they will arrive though

I'm still a huge fan of Navigators. I may try these out as my next arrow if/when payday/sponsorship allows.
