Full Metal Jackets - Amazing

Well having finally filled heaps of back orders I got myself a set of these. Built them up and decided to use them at our Xmas shoot FITA900.
They are 400's cut to 27" with 125 grain tips, with the inserts that's 141 grains up front. Weigh in at 431 grains. Using 1.5" X-Vanes.

First 4 rounds and they were all PB's. Incredible. My old Navs are now sold and the FMJ's are taking pride and place in my arrow tube.

So why are they so good? It seems the massive weight is the key. Because of the extra weight they seem to not get messed up as bad when the shot isn't perfect. This has been found true with indoor arrows as well. (heavy weight shafts are worth around 5 points inner 10 to me)
A case in point. In a Perth round (30 arrows at 70m, 60m and 50m on a 122cm face) I average about 20X's. In my first Perth with eth FMJ's I was past the 20x mark before getting to 50m.

The problem with weighty arrows is making 90m. If you can not get to 90m then drop the point weight, but keep the whole thing as heavy as possible.

Here are some testimonials on the FMJ's
"Have not touched my X10's since I bought these, and are shooting better" - James Park
"Blew my 70m PB (now 345) out of the water first day out" - Eberbachl
"I thought I was shooting well before, but with these arrows I put my first 11 shots into the X at 50m" - David, (urban customer today)

So compounders out there of ALL levels give these a try, I think you will be pleasently suprized that a cheap hunting arrow will be better for target than the current expensive offerings.

Are You talking Axis FMJ Marcus, I think I know which one just wanted to confirm.

If it is the one I think be careful not to praise them too much Easton will put the prices up, we can just keep them our secret .

Axis FMJ you will pick up for under Ģ75 including nocks (Hunter X-Nock) and Points (Screw in with HIT inserts), They are usually special order and have to ask for them a shop and Bowsposrt can get them.

Nav FMJ not sure but Double that and add a bit is a safe bet.

Marcus, is there any reason why you cant shoot them from a recurve bow. Easton produce a lot of arrows for compound, but have a much smaller choice for recurve. Is it therefore not possible to use these arrows or is there a good technical reason for it. I am currently using qaluminium XX75 Plat, but have only been doing the sport for 9 months, so on a learning curve.

timppa: No afraid not. I'll be putting in the standard Beiter nocks though.
Peter: No reason why not, however the sizes are limited to 500, 400, 340 and 300's.

Marcus Let us how you get on if you start playing with nocks and uni-bushes now you actually have a set of your own, I have loads of X-Knocks still so will be in no immediate rush to change.

Peter Not too hot on Recurves but If you are pulling 40lbs or have 30+ inch arrows I think you may be Ok as according to the easton shaft selector you are in 500+ spine territory, I would start a thread in the Recurve section see if we can not get a bit more interest the Axis FMJ, I I have recommended one of the recurve archers I shoot with look at them he is 31" and 40#, there is a huge choice of weights for the screw in point's which should aid tuning.

I got some 3-18 unibushings in and they fit, but don't go out to the alloy. However I have been unable to get any nocks into the ushings, including G nocks. No idea why.
Wasn't thilled with the fit anyway so I'll go the standard Beiters.
