| I think the shorter draw length can be achieved with shorter string or longer cables(not shorter cables). If you change just the string, the brace height increases. Longer cables reduces brace height. Changing both would have a greater effect on draw length, possibly with less change to brace height. Making both shorter would increase brace height and not change the draw length very much.
On the power stroke, if you imagine the cams winding in the bowstring, they will come to rest at a point that is earlier in that cycle compared to the one they reach at present. You will be losing that last little bit of push from the string into the arrow.
If there are twists in your cables that can be undone, try untwisting them and see how you get on. The twists can be put back later, if necessary. Like wise for the string.
(if you use a long d-loop, shortening that can produce some of the effects you want, with no change to string references) |
