Arrows for indoor

A friend of mine habe a Bowtech Tribute with 55#, and he wantsto buy new arrows for indoor. He wants all carbon, or alu/carbon arrows. I've told him about the Axis FMJ, but then i saw that they seem to "slim" to indoor....but i dont have a comparison...are they as slim as A/C/E, or are they "fat" enhoug for indoor? And what other arrows would you recommend, in the Axis FMJ line of price, for him to buy?

Thanks

They are aweful, used them for a couple of months and now my son has them. They are very fragile and crack behind the pile in a stiff boss.

Try carbon Express CXL2's (Alt Services sell them) they are FITA legal, tough with heavy piles available as standard. The CXL2's have a diamond weave in the carbon which seems to make them tougher.

I have been using them since dumping the FatBoys and my wife 'Archery_mum' is doing very well with them. We use 4" NAP's

I've shot CXLs indoors but with the 'controvesey' they sometimes provoke - see other threads then why doesn't he want to shoot Ali's indoors? They are cheap. Tune some 2315s and you're away!

line cutting capability of large diameter arrows is fine for three spot shooting but be aware that for general Portsmouth, FITA 18/25 that they can obstruct each subsequent shot and increase chances of deflections to a considerable degree as a result.

Watch_Man: CLX2 are good, but are out of his budget. I see you use XT Hunter's. How good are they?

Whisky: The target supports here in Portugal (boss, i think it's what you call them) are very stiff, so ali's tend to bend very quickly with the impact.

Buzz lite beer: here in Portugal, tha championship is on 3 spot targets. Only a few of the competitions are on single targets.

I want to hear someone about the FMJ's, because he's very interested in them, but don't know if they can be called linecutters

I think they are somewhere between a Goldtip and Navigator in diameter, so between 7mm and 8mm depending on what spine you go for. Not too bad but you won't get the line cutting advantage of a 2315 at 9.3mm

I have gone on to AXIS FMJ's they are unreal, they tune realy well, my PB has shot up on all indoor rounds, still to try them at a distance but I think they will be AOK.

I read this... (after id bought four to try out) and have to dissagree.... shot them indoors for a few weeks, on rock hard bosses and they have been fine.

Final testiment came yesterday when i accidently nudged my release and misfired one into the wall of the barn where i shoot (just above target), went through both wooden skins of the wall and took two of us to get it back out again it's fine though

I have even shot one stright down another, bouncing off the unibush, again no damage (apart from a nock in two pieces)

I did hear thare were problems with the early ones, many be they have refined them a little? or im just lucky

If the bosses are that hard you may find difficulty with carbons splitting or shattering in them then?

It's just a personal thing but I would still shoot 2315s on a single spot face. Ali shafts are so cheap that it doesn't bother me if I wreck a few. Deflection problems? well yes in theory but unless your at the level of some forum users here I think many don't need to worry. Alternatively don't shoot single face comps and one day the organisers will get the message
