Who is best for new cables and string?

I need to get new cables and a string for my 2003 Ultratec. I was wondering who is the best to order from? I've heard good things about Bucknasty, but can't find contact information.

What about in the UK?

I've ordered a set from Bowsports, but the number of questions I keep getting suggests they do not have specifications, so I am concerned they may end up being wrong...

I have not used anyone over here, but have had several sets made by Wayne Newberry of Berry Strings in the U.S.excellent strings and good prices.
Unfortunatly, his wife and kids were in a car crash and I dont think he is making anything at the moment.

Thanks Bruno,

I'll drop them an email. I've also managed to send a message to Bucknasty throught the Archerytalk board, but I'm not sure if he is making strings at the moment either.

I also spent another 15 minutes on the phone to Bowsports this morning. I think they have the specification correct now... Anyway I should know in the next couple of days.

Bucknasty only really deals through ArcheryTalk.

He is currently making strings/cables but has a backlog of about 10 days, so with the transatlantic shipping time I don't expect to see my strings for 3 weeks. That is the strings I ordered about 1 1/2 weeks ago!

John (Bucknasty) only charges an extra $2 delivery on top of the stated cost. Not too bad when the strings only cost approx £28 in the first place!

Alex.

MikeD,

I've got a 2003 Ultratec and I decided I needed new cables and string. I ended up ordering from Bucknasty just before Xmas. The cable and strings arrived early January and I had them put on the bow a couple of weeks ago. They are very well made and look superb. The guy that installed them knows lots about compounds and he was impressed. He tested the bow and said it shot great. Trouble is I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet

As far as I know Bucknasty is still very much in business. His current thread on Archery Talk is:Bucknasty custom strings and cables. It looks like he's just very busy at the moment, he went to the ATA show in January and I think he's just trying to catch up on orders.

I sorted out everything through Archery Talk PM and PayPal. It all worked fine and he seemed very nice to deal with. Only thing is that you will probably have a long wait if you order from him.

Bowsports are making mine to order, they didn't suggest anything else when I phoned them.

I registered on archery talk and sent a mail to Bucknasty. He has replied already and says there is a 2.5 week backlog. I've ordered using paypal.

So hopefully the Bowsport set is perfectly fine and I'll have a good backup set. Both are 452x orange and black from Bowsport, yellow and black from Bucknasty.

Interesting they recommend 8215, whereas everyone else was recommending 852x. I wonder why?

Their cable slide looks very nice too...
