| What is it made off? Brilliant idea.

| Presumably that gives you a slightly off centre peep hole.

| The material I used is Delrin(or Derlin) not sure which, but I almost made it from aluminium. It's a hard plastic so it can be filed into shape after the initial lathing was finished, and it is balck so needs no painting. LineCutter, the hole is off to one side so it gives a peep down the side of the string, like a recurve archer's string picture. The other advantage, apart from ease of fitting, is the view itself. I see a ring round the front scope. All other things are seen as normal;targets, flags, surroundings etc. With many normal peeps. there is a large amount blocked out by the peep. All you see is what is visible through the hole.If the string twists overtime, I can give the peep a nudge to put it right again. |

| Nice thinking Geoff. I like the simplicity alot

| SimonM, I used to make simpler ones out of leather. Fold the leather round the string, like a Lifeboat flag you stick into your lapel. Punch a slightly elongated hold through the "flag" so it looks round when viewed at the angle the string makes at full draw. Glue into place when positioned properly. It is so simple that no one would take it seriously!! The difference between shooting through a peep that only allows you to see what appears through the hole, and this variety has to be experienced to be believed. It's like aiming with a recurve but you have a back sight and hardly notice it. |
