What a great afternoon.

Met Grant (and his beanie) and Shirt. More faces to names.

Shot a PB for 3 doz at 70m (298 with a miss), a PB for Fita 70m (572) and had a X,X,10,10,9,8 end (and the 9 was only 1/2 an inch away from being a 10).

And ..... it didn't rain (when I was there) and the sun did shine towards the end.

Grant won the mens recurve section - well done!!

It was a good day overall - although I can't say I particularly liked the rain early on, before you got there Simon. Well done on the PB! I shot one myself with my first round, of 642 for a FITA 720. I'm hoping to improve on it as the season goes on. And I'd have brought the shorts for you if I'd known you would be there! Monday though...
And hurrah for not having a trophy to engrave or return next year! Nice medal though!

642 is a big score Grant, nice shooting. I think that would push most of the UK's best archers.

Do you see any room for improvement right now or are you just working on consistant scores at this level?

Good luck next weekend at the UK Masters.

See you tomorrow (with the shorts!!).

There is still plenty of room for improvement. I know a 660+ is on the cards for this season, I'm just preparing for it. But another score at 648 or higher would be good, since that would be a pair of selection scores! I just need a 1290+ FITA now!
I'll be shooting the Yorkshire Champs next weekend, not the Masters. This is the final year I can compete for Yorkshire so I want one last chance at it (and I want to win the indoors and outdoors in the same season!)
See you tomorrow!
