Summer Tournaments

It is a little early I know, But it is Peeing it down at the moment and I was day dreaming about shooting 100yards on a sunny day.

I have had a look at the Archery UK Diary and spotted a Few Comp's I fancy

22 April EMAS Fita Star at Kirby Muxloe
7 May Double Fita 720 at Kirby
20 May York at Forresters
17 June EMAS York Shirwood Archers ?
23/24 June EMAS Double Fita Star Lincoln ?
19 Aug Fita Star Kirby

I know Forresters have a Charity Shoot and a Fita Not sure of the dates

? = Not sure about the traveling distance for me but a possible.

Anyone aware of anything else leicestershire way that will be happening this year that will be worth looking at, any shooth may or early April, also where the Leicester County Squad selection shoots are happening, I don't think good enough for the squad but I thought they would be good shoots as I would get to meet other local archers.

My usual routine is
St George at Kirby (early April)
Then the 4 county selection shoots (Fita star at Kirby) 22 April, Usually 2 fitas at Glen (April and May) dont think they've been posted yet, York at Foresters 20 May.
May do the 720 at Kirby as long as it does'nt clash with a selection shoot.

Also do a few weekends away Lemmington, Lincoln & Norwich (Double rounds)

April and May are very busy with selection shoots etc. then it gets a bit more laid back bit early for booking as there are no entry forms yet, keep your eye on archery UK and the county website.

Date correction

The EMAS Double FITA Star at Lincoln is 23/24 June, not 23/27 (obvious to some, but worth mentioning)
Also, record status double metrics and cadet fitas for the juniors.
See the Lincs County web site competitions page for entry form www.lincsarchery.org

The last few years it's been a double ie Fita one day York the next but I think they've struggled to fill the York in recent years.

Yes, I was amazed at how low the numbers were on the sunday last year. I'll bet they could've filled it had they made it a double FITA though.

I agree, I didn't enter last year and on the saturday night I had a call from someone connected pleading with me to go and shoot the York on the Sunday so I figured the mumbers must be very low. Trouble is throughout the summer you can be shooting a tournament every weekend and by late Aug I've just about had my fill competition wise, especially Yorks (They are not my favorite) 6 doz at 100yds shot in 3s means no time to sit down detween ends and my old legs ache like buggery after :-)
