fletching jigs

Looking for a fletching jig, but (everyone sitting down?) NOT a Bitzenburger. Bitzenburgers are great, but I'm not ready to invest in one because 1. our club has three and any of us can use them, so spending so much money to buy my own doesn't make sense; and 2. it's just too heavy to travel with (not to mention expensive to replace if it takes one bump too many in transit).

So does anyone have recommendations for something lighter but accurate? I've been looking at the Spigarelli Micro (at Bowsports) as a top contender (and I would actually be willing to spend the extra over the Cartel knock-off), but also seen the AAE Fletch III which is less fancy but designed for travel.

I was looking at the Arizona EZ Fletch but I'd need to buy 2 different sizes, and apparently you can't use them to replace only one vane, you have to do all three at once [but if someone has figured out how to do one at a time please jump in here and correct me].

I have both Arizona EZ Fletch jigs (for aluminium & carbon arrows). They're simple to use and easily transportable.

You can replace only 1 fletching if you want, you just have to make sure that you re-align your nock to the ####-feather arm if you've turned it.

After much frustration i found a way of getting mine to line up everytime however it did involve stripping the jig down completely and rebuilding it as the manufacturer had placed the ####-feather arm on the wrong mounting post.

The only thing you should consider about it is you have no control on fletching distance (as in distance from the nock). There's no adjustment whatsoever but i've found it's about 1" away from the nock which is where i have my fletchings anyway...

I have a magnetic Cartel jig
I have used it for 4 years trouble free it cost about £20 it is good value accurate and solid.
I can recommend this item its probably the best thing Cartel make.

Ditto - I'm a newcomer to fletching jigs, but the money involved and ease of use of the Cartel was excellent.Very solidly built(I agree, one of their more sturdy items) and pretty easy to adjust most aspects that you would need, it is also not so big that you couldn't throw it in a bag for a shooting day.

i use the EZ fletch and you can alter the distance of th vane from the nock by just moving the vane up the arms and then closing them as normal.

Which model do you use? Could you (or anyone here) give me an idea on the difference between Spigarelli's standard model (which I assume is the one Cartel has copied) and the Spigarelli Micro?

Cheers,
Russ

Tolgate, but take care and check that the bolt that aligns the rotating nock support pin is lightly bearing on the shaft, to ensure concentricity, thus equal vane spacing.

I use the standard one...and it looks very much like the cartel one. I haven't studied the cartel in detail so cannot confirm how close a replica it is.

The arrow rotation and location contruction is very solid & positive...

I've never seen the micro..

if you can read italian, you could try the spigarelli site for info...
