| *Takes breath* Carbon - wood core versions of the XP10 limb. There were a couple of different names associated with this limb, depending on the distributor they were being sent to. EP10 - a wood core version of the ML2. The ML2 had a more pronounced recurve than the XP10 and was slightly less torsionally rigid (i.e. stable). TXB - wood core, probably with a similar recurve to the EP10 but a bit more stable. Can't say for sure. TXS - sharper recurve, more synthetic stuff in it. TXG - same recurve as TXS, synthetic core. My understanding is that the HEXIV and HEXVs follow the pattern Border usually come up with: they find materials that increase the torsional stability, and therefore allows them to increase the recurved profile of the limb without making it too critical to shoot. As Sid himself says, most people would be happy and perfectly able to shoot well with the lower specced limbs but there are always those who want the latest technology. I suppose when it comes to limbs I'm a bit like that ![]() |

| Thanks for the replies. I nearly suggested a Wiki article myself. I had a fewpulls of some TXBs the other week, to decide on uping my limb weight. I am using Kap Evo IIs at the moment at 37# on the fingers. I tried the Borders on a Hoyt Eclipse (I have a Matrix) they felt no harder to pull and hold than mine, granted only after a few shots. When weighed at my draw length, I was amazed to be told I was pulling 45#. I will not be going up this much in weight, nevertheless it assured me I could manage a few more pounds. They are so smooth. Border have some advertised as "Border Carbon" for sale direct at the moment for £139 (end of line) do you think these are a good buy, what else would you consider for simillar money? Would paying the extra for Winacts (£176) be worth it? John. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||

| I shot winacts before going to Border limbs. I'm still using Border limbs .I've shot every limb I've been able to get my hands on, and I have found nothing that shoots as well as a pair of Borders (of any incarnation). If you like the feel of Borders, then (IMO) there is nothing to equal that feel. Subjective feel of limbs is very personal however, and different things suit different people. For the money they can't be beaten, but if you don't like them, then they are a waste. Kae. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
