Hoyt G3 Limbs

Now then, I don't want to start a bunfight between the G3ists and the Borderellos of the forum, but I can't help but notice that there are almost always G3 limbs for sale on ebay.

Is this:

A. Because they are so popular, there are trillions out there in the marketplace
B. They are not all they are cracked up to be and folks want to pass them on
C. A whole load "fell off a lorry" somewhere

Just an observation as I say.........

Probably, like me, they found G3s to be a swine to tune properly and gave up on them. Mine shoot nice these days, but I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

And yes, there are trillions out there.

There's lots of them about. Also, they've been about for longest - before the G3s came out, there was usually a pair of Vectors or FXs, and quite a few Winacts.

Also, a lot of people tend to see others shooting G3s, and then go and buy a pair when they're still beginners. Hence a large number of relatively light poundage ones - people outgrow them quickly and are desperate to try and recoup some of the cost.

Perhaps that's why Hoyt stopped producing G3's in anything less than 34lbs?

I would go for B. Not what they are cracked up to be. In fact one of mine did crack (delaminate) last week so perhaps I should put my top limb on eBay!

I have not 1 but 2 sets of G3's - no problems & excellent results, improving all the time

Actually I was getting good results with the G3's but I was a bit miffed when one broke (after 18 months). I am trying to contact Hoyt to see what they can do but they haven't replied to my email yet

They don't make them like they used to......

I am shooting with second hand (maybe third or fourth hand - I don't know) Hoyt GM Carbonplus Limbs dated circa 1994 - they look pretty battered but otherwise performance is summed up by: so far so good.

i once borrowed a pair of hoyt carbon pluses circa 1992 from andy callaway, and they were really sweet to shoot, no effort, and fast too.

my winacts are fab too, i think they are circa 2000?
