Which fletching jig?

Now that I'm to start doing my own fletching - which jig is the easiest to use and best value for money?

Thanks

Have to agree. The Cartel is fairly cheap, cheerful and very easy to use. Just make sure you don't use it while nekkid... probably best not to fletch nekkid with any jig....

I use a plastic copy of the bitzenberger, called the BPE, from quicks. Centralises the nocks well, and has a dial adjuster for nock offsets. Although thats a compounders thing. It gets well used and has lasted about 6 years, with no signs of wear.

My mate uses a Sherwood one, its 20 odd years old and still going strong.

To be honest, most of the established brands are as good as each other, very little difference I have found. Buy a good quality one and it will last you for years seems to be my experience.

I find the Tollgate good value and easy to use. It fletches short to long (5" plus) and cn do straight or offset.

I have a Spigarelli standard which is really good. I could maybe wish for a slightly more precise way to measure the offset for the vanes, but it's very consistent and stable and dead easy to use.

I've heard that the Cartel is a decent copy of the Spigarelli, but the difference in price wasn't so big so I got the Spig instead. Also, we have an older Cartel at the club (most likely NOT the more recent model folks have recommended above) that is severly battle-scarred and almost impossible to use, so I didn't want to take the chance. And no, I wasn't trying to use it nekkid...
