yamaha question...

i may have access to some unsold or demo yamaha bows from the yamaha dealer in my country...he has promised to look for them in his warehouse and will let me have them "for a song"....i am not that familiar with yamaha stuff and would really appreciate if anyone can tell me what were the more popular and desirable models of their risers and limbs starting with their latest(from when they stopped in 2002) and going back to their earliest....or a link to where i can get this info....many thanks for any replies....

Yamaha-EX was (is) a great bow if you can get your hands on one.

The YTSL II was my favourite (late 80's). I still have one stashed away somewhere, along with my 1980 perris whitehearts. I'm waiting for them to become collectors items worth a mint

Point worth noting: Unlike Hoyt W&W etc, Yammy bushing threads (long rod mounts, sights etc) are all metric so you might have a problem getting peripherals to phit (sorry, fit), unless you buy Yammy's own stabilizers

I had to get screw in thread adaptors for mine.

i will keep you guys posted on what we find.....i already got a ytsl2 riser and 41# carbon limbs from him earlier..they were a demo model and had the usual nicks on the painted riser but the limbs are in quite good condition....problem is getting accessories so may just have to shoot them barebow at the moment...

I had an EX alpha and she was beautiful. Yamaha had the best grips (for my hand shape) ever until the Helix came out.

Metric accessories are around, most people re-tap the bushings to accept imperial threads

I have just aquired an "Eolla" and wondered what sort of accessories are included in your "for a song" deals, stabilizers, bow bags (Yamaha) or anything going.

I have never come across a Yamaha bow, but have some Yamaha instruments. If the bows are anything like their instruments then they must be good quality and easy to tune. (Sorry for that, just couldn’t resist it)
