Umberella

Anyone using a large fishing umberella, possibly tilting and with sides as an equipment cover/protector when caught by heavy showers. Is a 60" wide one big enough. too many wet shoots and sodden equipment at the moment.

I have used the umbrella and side sheets.
I found it took ages to set up and longer to put away, especially when wet; most of the time really. The central pole was a pain too. As you can guess, it was rarely used.

I bought an umbrella this year. I also have a cabanon (sp?) tent but can't usualy be bothered putting it up (though I'll take it to Norfolk with me this year).

The brolly is up and tethered in 3 mins and provides plenty of room and shelter from rain, wind and even the sun for me and my kit.

It's also simple to take down, even when wet.

I don't have any side skirts for it (yet) - I may get some for next year.

I personally would recommend it.

Simon

I have been using this item "Zebco Umbrella Shelter." from Argos this season. Side sheet zips to prolly in seconds. Whole thing up and fixed in place in less than five minutes. Taking in down is even quicker. Worked a treat so far.

Have you seen these instant tents they are free standing and put themselves up when you take them out of the bagand let go, this year they have a new product for hikers which is like a shelter or half a tent we have a two man tent using the same principle and it is supurb lok on the web at Decathlon and then follow the trail to hiking tents
