| After a year of having a terible begginers bow I decided to get out the cash and buy a new bow, I went to quicks site and bought a hoyt eclipse riser for 150 quid and a pair of w&w winstorm limbs for 75 quid, I've heard these are decent but I need some second opions from people who have used them before, are they good limbs? is it a good riser? I'd like some detailed information about how good they are please. btw I haven't actualy received them yet but there on there way. thanks in advance |

| Just about any limbs that you get are going to be bettere than the beginers bow that you started with. You did the right thing in getting a cheaper pair as you will definately want a heavier pair before long. Spend the money on what you are going to keep from one setup to the next.

| Mrs Levelt has a new Eclipse riser and bought it for the same reason it's a good riser that she can "grow" into and will be with her for a long time. It's very comfortable in the hand and has all the adjustment you'll need, it also looks really good in black. I'm using Winstorm limbs and although I have nothing to compare them too currently I'll replace them with the same when I'm ready to increase the poundage. I will eventually change them for something sexy, carbon and expensive but not until I've improved considerably as an archer so could be a while yet. One thing however, my lower limb was a first class cow to get out of the riser to the point were it took 2 people to pull the thing out (a tad tight). The problem was solved by taking a file to the U shaped slot which hadn't been cut cleanly and only required a tiny amount of material to be removed, it now pops out cleanly when needed. I'm satisfied with mine and they seem to move the pointy stick nicely down the range. I'm sure you'll be more than happy with your choice of equipment.

| The Eclipse is an excellent riser - especially in Red!!! I have also just bought a set of the Winstorm Carbon limbs as an upgrade from my KAP Challengers (same as winstorm - different stickers). The carbons are a noticable upgrade from the wood/glass limbs, but they are far from the best. At my draw length there is a fair amount of stacking. these should get me through another year, they it may be time to opt for something of better quality.

| Search on the site - loads of commentary on the Eclipse. I must say, though, outside of this community I don't hear much about it: I've not seen more than a couple on the line at the tournaments I've been to this year so far. But it will definitely see you through to first class and beyond. (and black is the best colour - don't listen to these red heretics)

| My Winex limbs were sticking in the Winact riser. I cured this with a light smear of string wax in the limb pockets. Its a drylube which stays where you put it and does not stain or mark other equipment or the case. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Don't listen to the hype....Red is bold & daring - obviously the better option.
