Question Easton Fatboys

Dear All,

I have noticed that people are now starting to concentrate on setting up their bows for the indoor season. I have also been paying it some thought and it's the arrow situation that I find myself pondering over .

I have just bought some nice shinny Cartel triples and after buying four to test i'v ended up with 16, can never have to many . My dilemma is whether to shoot these indoors this year or go back to my x7 (1914)? I'v shot better indoor scores with my old A/C/C's.

I understand the benefits of the larger arrow and its well discussed here in AIUK, and was also considering selling the x7's and getting a set of Fatboy's to use as my indoor arrow. I have not come across anyone else who shoots Fatboy’s and was also wondering if you can tune a set of T6 500 spine Fboy's (as this is the lowest spine I can find) to my setup witch suits a T5 arrow?

28" Draw
37# on fingers

Thanks

Paul

I gave my Fatboys to my 11yr old and got some X7's instead. I got sick of the Fatboys breaking at every indoor shoot. I think mine must have been made of chocolate

If you want a better alternative try CXL2's from Carbon Express they are available in the UK and are much tougher than the FatBoys.

Yep, in my opinion there's no point in retuning your setup for indoors. Just shoot the triples

Forget the Fatboys....too delicate. You can't beat X7s for straightness and durability (oh and fatness).

X7's rock with nice big feathers to straighten the arrow out sooner.

Keep em fat - Watch the 10 ring go splat!!

I am happy shooting my 500 spine Fatboys using a recurve. Just move the sight pin 10mm to the left. They are durable. Mine have 160gn points and 5" feather fletchings.

I had my first go at setting up for indoor with my new X7's and managed to smash the nock on one and the deflecting shot it up into the 6 ring. Do fat shafts really get enough linecutters to justify these few odd very low scoring arrows?

Expect youre club to make you pay for youre faces, with a compound youd need a new gold every dozen or less on a portsmouth, or buy yourself centre stickers but there not cheap either. Even 3spots wear quickly with Fatboys.
