Customizing your sight pin?

Just wondering do u guys customize your sight pin?
Those are mine! Since my original Shibuya sight pin had been broken not so long ago. (Don't ask me how! That's stupid anyway!) I've have changed to a Beiter and started to customize them!

Why, aren't the 15 that Beiter do enough for you?

I took the fibre out of my Shibuya - looks kinda like the yellow Beiter, only black. Not exactly customised though.

Some cutting and painting rather than using their fluorescent pins. Here are their originals.

I adhere to the rule of concentric circles (not a real term - just sounds good ) in that I remove the element from my sight pins, as the eye can naturally an subconsciously align circles in circles.

So my customisation consists of an arrow poked through the element.

Off topic, but how do you manage to aim off in the wind with a concentric circle?

My mini-ring inside a big ring lets me choose which part of the sight I pay attention to - so I use the central element when I aim off. I can & have shot with a ring & no central part, but can't aim anywhere other than the middle.

I'm with you, be afraid, be very afraid!

Anyway, if you put something in front of the target (sight pin for instance) you can easily get into the habbit of moving it out of the way subconciously so that you can see the target. Thus you get a flinch on release as your brain try's to work out where the target has gone - and thus moves the sight out of the way to see it.

Difficult to explain, but my sighting has been much more comfortable and natural since moving to an open sight ring.

Kae.
