I can't comment on the riser as I know nothing about Marksman bows.

However the FX limbs are probably one of the smoothest fastes limbs ever made by Hoyt. They did tend to twist a little at the tips, but I loved mine when I shot recurve. It would be a damn shame to hold such great limbs back by fitting a slow Dacron string. But warning is a wrong word. Who ever told you that has some mis-conceptions as I suspect he has the warnings the wrong way round.

Fast flite = Metal riser( not sure about wood, comments from others here) and good quality limbs made from anything ( quality important word here)

Dacron = Anything..a stick would be ok..

Wow Rik - that rings a bell! I know a guy with a KG1 who still uses pure Kevlar strings (he has a large bail of the stuff and refuses to buy anything else till he run out sometime in the next century) - he puts a tin hat on at around 2999 shots waiting for the bang! Absolutely no stretch but not for those of a nervous disposition!

Wow! He gets that many shots out of Kevlar? Most people I spoke to reckoned on 1500 max, and were ready for them to go from about 500 onwards... Of course that includes outdoor shooting, with the UV exposure (which I understand is part of the problem with Kevlar).
