| Arrow Rest There are so many types of AREs, Then there's the Beiter rest, And Cavalier Free Flytes.. Gonna leave Standard class (Means adding stabilisers, fancy sights and all). Can someone tell me more about these arrow rests? |

| All rests are there to support the arrow till it is moving under its own steam. At the same time, the rest should disturb the arrow as little as possible as it clears, specially the fletchings end. The stick on ones come in two main types; one piece- usually plastic, and the others, which have a wire arm that can fold in towards the riser if the arrow rubs against it in passing. The next group are often called wrap around as they are bolted on the outside of the riser and wrap round so the wire arm is inside. These are adjustable for up/down and how far from the riser the wire arm is when at rest. Some will adjust how springy the arm is so it can fold in easily or not so easily. Some arms are attracted to a magnet when they are given the slightest pressure, so they are out of the way as the arrow passes. The beiter rest is like the other stick on ones but the arm is adjustable for up and down. Almost all of the rests can be used with a button, but the Cavalier freeflytes have a springy blade that replaces the button. |

| I need a reason to upgrade from my plastic Hoyt rest. It isn't adjustable, it leaves a mess when removed (I removed it only once, and spent a bit of time removing whats left), it is less durable than ARE metals, Beiter plastics. I want something that.. I stick it on, won't have to remove it ever again, and adjustable when required (I don't know why you want to adjust a rest, someone enlighten).. I'm 3 months into Archery, have acquired the bare essentials to shoot.. Time to consider the extras. |

| If a rest is adjustable, it's mainly done when setting up centre shot after changing arrows. Other refinements are to lighten the springiness of the fold in arm(if it folds in that is) The arm that sticks out and supports the arrow should not stick out too far otherwise the fletchings will get a heavy contact on the way past.By being adjustable the archer can set up the arm for all sorts of arrow sizes so it just sticks out enough to support the arrow and no more. |

| If you want something just a little more solid than the hoyt plastic, then the gompi regi rest is very solid. If you have two types of arrows and really must have an adjustabe rest i'd get an ARE over a wrap around, but a lot of people do love their wrap arounds. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||

| There's 6 types of ARE Rest for the Recurve bow on its website.. Does anyone know the difference? |

| http://www.asahi-archery.co.jp/wakyu/resthome.html JPY 5,800 for a piece of metal holding your arrow. That's pretty dear |

| The AM-105-ADJ will do fine if you only use one set of arrows through the season, but a regi rest is indeed cheaper! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
