Smile Which Border Limb to Buy?

I need your Help.....I'm about to order a new set of Borders, but can't decide which profile, TX, or Hex lV. I live in the US and there is very little Border knowledge over here. I know that this site has many Border fans, so I need your thoughts.

I shoot Olym. Recurve, FITA/target. My current set-up is Xfactor, 38# ML2's, with McKinney ll's. I draw 28.5" and am getting 205 fps with my 18 strand 8125. Winnex are my back ups, and performance is similar with same set-up.

I believe a slow ten is better than a fast 8 and I value:

1.Stability/forgiveness
2.Smoothness through the clicker
3.Speed

In that order

I plan on having them built with the new vx laminate, and synthetic core which will add more torsional stiffness, and stability, but after studying the force draw curves, I can't decide.

What are your opinions? Please

I think the TX limb shape with the VX laminate will probably be slightly more stable than the HEXIV or HEXV with the same, simply because the limb is recurved less.

Personally, I'm going for a HEXV VXs - as a barebow shooter, a faster limb is more useful to me as the flatter the arrow trajectory the greater the chance I have of hitting a field target on an unmarked distance I've estimated incorrectly

That having been said, from what Shel on here says, he's having brilliant results with his wood core HEXIVs on the field courses (shooting full target recurve set up) and practicing at the target club. High speed and stability.

Have fun with your choice, whichever limb you go for

The US distributor recieved his first set of Hex V's this week, but I'm thinking the recurve may be a bit too aggresive for my purpose. What are your thoughts?

to be honest i, and my hopuse mate (napolienne), have thought exactly the same, so i may go up to border soon and have a look. if i do i'll be sure to pass on the findings.

it seems a bit like there are too many pro's and not enough cons - but im sure they will be fine. as i said my TXGs have served me fantastically ever since i've had them

You might want to give Sid an email, or even just pop over to the Border section here at AIUK and start a thread there.
