Posten Stabilisers.

I'm a bit of a equipment junkie at heart, any excuse for more new kit is eagerly grasped! So when I saw the stabilisers that Jim Posten was making in the states, I just had to have some.

It then got even better when he said that he was offering custom powdercoating, good looking rods in any colour I wanted....

Anyway, after lots of debate I settled on a colour scheme and was just about to order when the missus looked over my shoulder and said "Ooh they look nice, are you going to buy me a set as well?" That's when the trouble and delays started! After lots of questions to and fro, the order was finally decided only taking a couple of weeks longer!

Jim could not have been more helpful, he has redefined the meaning of customer service. The package was despatched, then too long later after giving ParcelFarce (sorry, Force) lots more money, I had my new rods!

Luckily the next Saturday was dry and sunny, so out we went to play!

This is my setup, the rods don't really match the bow but that will be changing very soon...

My wife was a little concerned about the all up weight of a new setup, as she has just been using a long rod up until now. So Jim made her a take down long rod! It comes apart into two peices so she can decide just how much weight is on the bow. Added to that, the colours had to match her bow and string, so a sample f string and an old damaged limb were sent to Jim to help with the matching.

Clare's setup with a half rod.

And Clare's setup with the full rod.

They do exactly what it says on the tin, stabilise the bow. Along with the Stacker Jax to damp some vibration they are shooting rather well. Although I need to shoot more to form a final opinion, which may be delayed as one of my limbs is under suspicion of delaminating...

Alex.

Jim is a really nice guy to speak to and his feedback on AT certainly is impressive - an 88 page thread with about 3500+ replies

We are looking forward to archery_mum's turning up. I hope they look as nice as Alex's piccies.

Alex was kind enough to contact me and give me some feedback on the stabs he bought

Here's a link to the Archery Talk thread - Click Here.

And a link to his website - Click Here.

There's also a thread on Archery Talk about his custom powdercoating - Click Here.

The stabilisers can be powdercoated in any colour that you wish, that is available in powder!

Drop him a line, see what he suggests...

Alex.

This week Jim is away on a hunting trip, he is back at the weekend.
You may get a reply from his wife though.

Alex.

How do they compare to normal rods like a HMC in weight? I like to look and price so Im very interested for my recurve. Plus im going vegas in feb so could avoid any additional costs.
