I thought the supression mount was very rigid? It is the weight inside which is free to move, not the actual mount itself

So worthipa, the reason you feel getting the suppression mount as extender is a bad idea is price?

This is getting complicated, my own fault I suppose.

All I'm saying is if you want an extender, buy an extender. I'm assuming the MAC Extender was designed to work in conjunction with the MAC Stabilisers you've already decided to buy, so why not get one of those?

The Doinker Suppression Mount wasn't designed to be an extender, if it was, why would Doinker have 3 extenders in their catalogue? If memory serves I seem to remember reading that the Doinker Suppression Mount it's a remnant of the days when our compound friends only used to use a long rod and therefore couldn't fit Torque Flight Converters to reduce the shock in the hand. Although I may be wrong I don't profess to know anything about Compounds or Compound shooting.

I use a Doinker suppressor as an extender. I used a Cartel prior to the Doinker.The Cartel was a tube with alloy caps at each end. The Doinker is of a more substantial construction. Nothing on the outside moves or rotates. Any magic goes on inside. Sliding piston? It works well as an extender.

Although this is starting to sound like an argument;

I never mentioned anything about price! I was asking why you suggested it flexed, when it clearly does not. I did not say it was worth 3x more than a "normal" extender for what it does.

Doinker provides 3 extenders, it does not mean that the suppression mount cannot be used like this. Have you tried it? Because it works for me.

I only referred to the "Heretic Archer" as you had yourself Worthipa and after speaking with Frangilli, I doubt he really cares, but it was an interesting conversation!

Kae, I didn’t suggest the suppression mount flexed the word “flex” doesn’t appear in any of my posts!

In my reply to Zippo’s question “Are you saying that the suppression mount isn’t very rigid?” I said “No, certainly not, but only because I don't know how it's constructed internally.”

I can see the thin rod running through the middle, and the tube which I agree is rigid, but I don’t know if the rod is disconnected, connected, damped, lose at both ends lose at one end or what. And it would seem that the others using one as an extender don’t know either. pmiddl ventures “It is the weight inside which is free to move” whilst wingate_52 suggests “Any magic goes on inside. Sliding piston?” Looking at it and looking at the drawing accompanying the Patent application I suspect the thin rod inside which transmits the shock is damped, simple as that.

And if you, and pmiddl and wingate_52 are happy how it performs on your bows, fine.
