Question AGF ZGV Standard II Sight

I am looking to buy a new bow sight and wondered if anyone had any comments on the AGF ZGV Standard II Sight?

(As you may have guessed I am on a tight budget - so please no recommendations that I buy a Copper John or SureLoc please! )

I have one and I love it. Dead simple but solid and very well made.
Does everything you might want without too much fuss.

The only think I don't like about it is the design of the extender. It's actually curved on the back (the side which sits against the mount block) which means that it can twist slightly when tightening the extender after moving it. So sight track is not always exactly vertical and has to be adusted sometimes. I'm not sure why they've designed it like this, as a flat surface would have been better.

The other thing to be aware of is you don't get all of the sight pins and inserts that are described on the AGF website - you just get a single ring/pin. I replaced mine with a Beiter anyway so didn't mind.

Other than this I can heartily recommend it.

I used a ZGV for years. It's simple to use, solidly built and never caused me any trouble. The curved back to the extension bar is a bit of a faff when setting up but once set and screwed on its fine.

Thank you for the replies. Looking at the picture of the sight I cannot see where it is curved: the extender has two parallel rods so how can it twist?

I assume I am misunderstanding what you mean by he twisting.

The curve is on the opposite side to the scale (on the aluminium extension bar). It's only slight and is just something to be aware of when securing the extension bar to the mounting block. Its just a minor niggle - the sight is robust and well made.

Well, I'd say it was more than a minor niggle.

The top of the track can be several millimetres left/right of the bottom which will obviously affect your windage as you change distances.

I'm not sure why they designed it this way, but you do have to check the vertical alignment every time you move the extender. It is a very well made sight but this is something you should be aware of.
