| Nexus to Helix I'm currently shooting a Nexus without and stabilisation or weights. (Simply barebow w/ Sight) I am given the option of switching to a Helix. What would be the biggest difference I'd feel from the change? In terms of weight.. Isn't it like only a difference of 50g? Or would I have to use a heavy set of stabiliser to balance it? |

| Purely my own opinion, but the Helix looks to me like a bow that is likely to give its best festooned with all the toys. Horses for courses and all that... If barebowing, a plain hunting job would be nice. Chap in t'club has a nice recurve running at about 50lbs, and if you heft it, you wonder how it can be that light. Seems to weigh about 11g. If that.

| Personally, I'm not a massive fan of the tec design. It looks very nice indeed, but it makes the riser far too stiff for my liking. I also find that the balance is completely out with a tec bar (although I am comparing the Aerotec and the Matrix rather than the Helix and the Nexus). |

| Nothing is wrong with the NeXus. I haven't tried the Helix before so I don't really know what to expect (There are no LH Helix round here it seems...) |

Any bow prior to the nexus and helix can't be compared as the design is different due to the ergonomics of the grip! Please stick to the question asked as any other answers really wont help ![]()

| Well then, with all due respect, why don't you stick to the Nexus and forget the Helix, there's no advantage in changing. |

| Until you put a set of stabilisers (or at the very least some weights like barebow archers do) on, there's going to be little to no difference between a Helix, a Nexus, a Gold Medallist and a pair of breezeblocks with limbs tied on. In all cases there will be vibration in excess of what was probably intended by the designer that will disguise any "subtleties" between risers.

| It is embarrassing to admit to this but... I think the Helix looks way better with a distinctive Hoyt style, Moreover, I don't quite like the colour on my NeXus... It is primary 'looks' I'm into, however, I need some sort of justification to spend the extra quids.. I understand that at my level, a Gold Medalist probably shoots better than me. The choice given to me is... Spend 35 quids on a new Riptide NeXus or Spend 66 quids on a new Riptide/Inferno Helix Either way, I have to choose one.. If a Helix really isn't any better, I'd just get the Riptide NeXus offered to me Stabilisers wouldn't be a problem. I've already decided what I want. (Thanks to peeps here) |
