Spine nightmares for ACE

Hi folks,

Time for my old ACC's to kick the bucket (mainly because I am running out of they, shooting at trains.... long story... but thats archery in New Zealand)

Problem is spine choice. My old 440 ACC's were too stiff and heavy, but I sit at the exact boundary point of the Easton spine chart.

I shoot 30.5", but am as short as safe so may add 0.5"
I currently draw at 40lb

This kind of puts me anywhere for 430 to 570 depending if I got slightly stiff or not. 520 seems to sit about in the middle, but advice needed.

For the detail seekers...... Recurve bow, probably will fit them out with 80/90/100 Breakoffs, Beiter in-outs and fairly small QuikSpins.

Sponge.

FWIW, ACE 520's. 42lbs 30.5in, 110gn breakoff and 40mm kurlies fly nicely out of my bow.

FWIW I use 570s, @ 28.25", 110Gr & 39#.

Go stiff, or work out how stiff/weak you current shafts are & work from that. (i.e. how much left vs right can you get from changing the button/draw weight & still cope with it)

440s would probably be on the very stiff side for you. I shoot them, 32.5in to tip of point out of a 42-43lb bow and they fly perfectly straight.

I'd guess ACE 520s for you, possibly 470s if you have a quick bow. Keep an eye on Ebay for a cheap set to try.
