| Arten Sights OK, I need some help. Not quite sure how it happened but when I was nocking an arrow the other day I poked it through the centre of my sight so now I am left with a nice circle of metal to look through but no pin to aim with. I'm not 100% sure what the sight is because I bought it so long ago. It's an Arten and looking at pictures seems to maybe be a 2000. I have tried to rig something up inside it but have had no luck. I don't want to buy a whole new sight so does anyone know where I might get a replacement part? This is NOT the sight but in case my description was bunk, this is what I poked out. |

| Trouble is I no longer live in the UK, but USA and in the middle of hunting territory. All the places I've been to only sell very complicated looking compound scopes! The other problem is because of winer I'm moving indoors and will be shooting at a 40cm target at 20 meters for the first time. Maybe I'm being wimpy but that small at that distance with what I have now it will be pretty hard. |

| You just need one of these: Quicks Archery. They just push inside the metal apeture. What is left of the old insert (if anything, you may have poked out complete) should just push out with one of these. You don't need a whole new pin.

| Open rings are great, just take a bit of getting used to. Even for indoors. But if you really want a new aperture, I highly recommend this one: http://www.lancasterarchery.com/shop...5462365723049b ...the large 12mm Beiter. Then you can put whatever inserts you like into it, or use the open ring. I believe an 8/32 will fit most recurve sights, and 10/32 will fit most compounds. M4 is for other European metric-threaded sights (like Arc Systeme). I don't know which size Arten uses but if I had to guess I'd say 8/32. Maybe someone who knows will jump in here with the right answer...? My favourite Beiter insert at the moment is this one (#13, in black): http://www.lancasterarchery.com/shop...5462365723049b I might also tempted by the #17 with a 1.5mm flo-pin. There's no end of possibilities with these things! And if you're in the U.S., I highly recommend Lancaster for their service, they'll ship pretty much anywhere and they're quick and enormously helpful. Call them and they could probably also help you find the right thread size for your sight.

| Thanks all. I actually went with a replacement Arten pin that came with a few different inserts, figured that way I can tweak it and as it was only 7.55, it's not breaking the bank! |
