longest compound string?

I am in the process of making myself a string making jig. I figured since I may likely change equipment in the future, it would be worth building to for future eventualities. That lead me to wonder what is the longest compound string I should design for?

I think the longest string I've made was 102.5" but it's not very often at all you'll make one that long. I'd make it suitable for up to 72", that'll cover rc/cp and longbows. One cams can be done on that length of jig anyway.

You`ll need something like this to make good strings - its 10 feet long. But reckon on spending around £250

Hi pyroarch, nice looking jig. I was already planning on using a boat winch for tensioning, not planning on spending anything like £250 though!

What are the bungy ropes for?

Attaching and tensioning the strand ends mostly.

Yes i`m sure you can make one for less than that . I wanted a substantial jig capable of 600lbs of tension in safety, that plus making a unique add-on pushed the machining costs up.
