| I have a riptide blue one with a Jager grip - its wicked! |
| |||
| It is the best bow I have ever shot. Also Hoyt new grip system is excellent. |

| Set up one for one of our newbies. Smooth, fast, quiet and a lovely feel to the shot. |

| Recently started shooting the Nexus. Previously I shot the Hoyt Avalon. First impression was the grip. This sits well into your hand. On previous bows I always felt the grip needed to be smaller. Thats exactly what Hoyt have done. I also feel I have less chance of torquing the bow than others I've tried. The grip feels significantly further forward than many others. It feels as though your hand goes into the bow further, and I think this also affects the response of the bow after the shot, which appears to be very stable and predictable. Although its not the lightest riser on the market I prefer to have some weight in the setup. Forward rotation on release is less than my Avalon, but I think this is due to lighter stabalization which I've reduced initially. Finish is excellent (at least mine is). I've not tweeked the limb adjusters, ony increasing weight. Limb alignment was spot-on out of the box. Mind you, I've always believed most bows out of the box will shoot far better than most archers will ever be able to shoot them. Most problems usually start well behind the bow. I shoot G3s as I come from an engineering/manufacturing background and have more faith in matching limbs/riser from one manufacturer. Lack of confidence in what you shoot is 90% of the problem. I initially looked at the Helix but have issues with the rear bar, which I found anoyingly close to my wrist/arm. To be honest I don't trust the vibration damper in the riser to do diddly. It'll stay there until it becomes annoying. Overall an excellent riser and one I'll be shooting for a very long time. Mark H PS Sorry if its a bit boring. PPS Are you looking for a riser or just soliciting opinion? If looking, what are your thoughts?

| If you take out the rubber thing - unless you have doinkers your bow will vibrate badly. But... as someone rather intelligent said (regarding compounds) - "if you want a bow that won't scare a bear at 20 metres, leave the rubber crap on; if you want a bow to shoot Xs at 90 metres... take the rubber crap off." So *shrugs*... I am leaving mine on. Helix and Nexus are both brilliant bows, the Helix reacts more like the old Matrix (if you set up the weight very forward), and the Nexus reacts like a lighter Matrix. |

Interestingly gtek, who designs the Hoyt recurve risers after all and could presumably shoot any one he wants, shoots a Nexus. |
