BMC Triple Foam Target Question

Has anyone used one of these bosses from a shop or Bowsports? I am thinking of using 3 of them stacked on top of each other and banded together as a backstop so I can practice indoors.

My concern is how they will stop X7's at 6m from my Ultra Elite.

Has anyone used one? Do the arrows penetrate completely?

thanks

Are these the ones with a thin layer front and back and a sort of multi coloured foam centre? Cost £30-£40

If so I bought one of these a few months ago for use in my garden at about 15 yards. I can say that they are very good at stopping arrows providing as always that you move the target face after a couple of dozen arrows. With my (55lb draw)compound, alluminium arrows are fine, the only problem is they take a bit of effort to pull out. With carbons they are almost impossible to pull, It took two fairly strong guys standing on top of the laid down boss pulling with all of might to remove 3 Aces. I think it's to do with the construction of the boss . The thick middle bit is made up of lots of pieces of foam glued together, the speed and friction of carbons melts this glue and then sticks the arrows to the boss. Tried my recurve and had no problems with allys or carbons.

SLOWHAND - thanks for the reply, Wendy has probably read it, but I will make sure she checks it when I get home.

This does indeed sound like the boss she is thinking of buying. She is currently pulliing around 42 - 46lb so hopefully the aluminium arrows wont be too hard to get out. However she also shoots all carbons now and then maybe a problem getting the fat carbons out as they chrono about 45 FPS faster than the X7's

BMC - Triple Foam Target for Club use

Has anyone purchased these for club use?
Our bosses are due to be renewed soon and the art of parking a round boss is lost on some of our members.
How do they stack?
How do they stack up?

We have 3 here at Chateau Archery_Mum

In physical terms they are quite heavy but well constructed, the foam sheets on the front and back making an excellent surface to pin targets.

However, we do not use them as bosses, we have the 3 banded together vertically and use as a backstop indoors as it fits very nicely over our front door.

I assume you will be using a mix of Carbon an aluminium arrows. As slowhand pointed out, you may have difficulty extracting carbon arrows at short distances.
