Soma Joomong tab...

Anyone tried the Soma Joomong tab.

Design looks identical to the Soma Saker tab, but it only costs £9.

Two people in the club just bought them, i'll borrow them and compare to mine at some point. The back plate is made from a much cheaper material, not sure about the leather though.

Er..., the Soma Saker doesn't have a chin shelf, it's actually a rest for your thumb!

From what I understand, the only difference is that the ridgid material is plastic instead of metal. I use a metal Soma and my wife has just started using the jooming. I have to say I can't see much of a difference. If I have to replace the Soma I'll probably get a Jooming.

If you look at the picture again you will notice the Soma Saker has lots of holes in it, there are more of these behind the "thumb shelf", allowing you to adjust the position of the shelf quite a lot and to turn it into a chin shelf.

I know I have a soma saker and I actually did just that.

Dather,

I hope this will actually answer the question....
I brought one 3 weeks ago from Chilterns (Aston Clinton Branch), it's a stamped metal plate rather than machined. The quality is not as good as the Saker however it is still a very well made finger tab and for £9 well worth a try.

As I said I've been using it for about 3 weeks now, my previous tab was a Cavalier platform, so it has taken a little time to get used to the thumb rest and little finger hook, all of which are just as adjustable as the Saker tab. I have replaced the leather with "Oberon" material but that's what I prefer and nothing to do with the quality of the leather. I'll keep reporting on how it performs as it gets bashed around in the bow case and shooting line. From what I've experienced so far it's a well put together tab

I'm now back at a level of shooting I'm happy with and will probaly go out and buy a 2nd tab as a back up, for £9 you can't go wrong.

Rgds, Jamie
