1 x looooong monopod
1x remote shutter release (or you can use autotimer, if you're quick)
1x wide angle lens
1x stepladder (head height one at least)

Attach the camera SECURELY to monopod, hold above archer, trigger shutter. Repeat as neccessary.

Secure monopod mounting really is essential though.

I was sort of thinking free standing...maybe a bit ambitious. Also I think the lens can't be wide angle - I'll check....

Seems 35mm is a minimum

Hi Geoff - yes, its that same question! I tried to get an image into AF in answer to your post but it wouldn't let me I suppose it would be possible with a mirror - not sure it would be very practical though....I suppose something could be rigged to one of the large line tent frames (no tent obviously), but don't know about the height/coverage issue.

Hi Tel, I assume you are outdoors or the ceiling isn't suitable for hanging mirrors from.
Would it be possible to use the tripod mounting hole to attach a bracket to the camera? Fix a small mirror to the bracket at 45 degrees(I think) in front of the lens. Connect camera to a tv and display what the camera can see.
The other question is, what will the view show? Would the same be possible using the camera on the floor looking up? ( called the "snot" shot for some inexplicable reason!!!)

1. Place archer at bottom of stairwell and look down from landing above (you'd need to close off the stairwell, place boss in front of archer etc. for safety)

2. Erect a scaffold tower (access tower) and have the archer stand below or just to one side of it.

3. Climb a tree..?

I asked the same question on the aussie forum, no one answered. I've seen the photos in James Park's book and his photo analysis software. There must be a way to get that elusive photo from the top without a scaffold.
