Which oh which release to buy?

I would like to know what kind of release I should get. I have a release, but it is a $25 cobra trigger release. Now that I am getting better I would like to know if getting a thumb or open finger release might help me. And I also kind of want to know what brand I should look at.

As with most archery equipment, try before you buy. I tried a lot before I bought my release, well worth the time and effort to get one you like. As for brand, Carter are always a good choice.

Getting a good one is important. Using it properly, is more important, I feel. I hope that's not too far off topic. Sorry,if it was.
