| For the second week running, my Spig Z/T has failed during a competition and cost me points, especially in my second round. I suffered the same problem last year and so bought a new rest, only for the same things to happen again. I've considered the SpiGua, but I think perhaps all the micro-adjust is begging for more things to go wrong. So, enough is enough. I need a new rest. End of. I'm not interested to hear that others people have had no problems with their Z/Ts. I have and now I need a suitable replacement that is going to be FAIL SAFE. Murray has already recommended the Win&Win flipper rest. OB has recommended a Spig flipper, but I'm unable to find info about it (it's not the Evolution II, btw). I'm open to suggestions.

| On my recurve I favour a cheapie Cartel flipper rest. With a bit of bending to set it up there is nothing that can really go wrong. |

| I think the rest that I have is a Petron Magnetic one from Eastcote.....not had a single issue with it since day 1. What about one of the basic stick on magnetic flipper type rests ie. Regi, soma etc??? Very little to go wrong with them!!! Hoyt super rest????

| All arrow rests can go wrong, so there's no fail-proof option. The Hoyt Super Rest is probably the nearest thing, as long as you carry spares. Don't use the Cartel copy, BTW - I've found they only last a few dozen shots before cracking. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| I'd rather not go the plastic stick on route. I considered the Spig Super Slim, but there are still grub screws that can go wrong.

| Had a Petron rest which was a Spig rip off. Crap it was.

| All IMO: Avoid the cartels. As you know, my W&W has many 10s of 1000s of shots, without failure. I had a look at Alan Wills bow at the weekend - he's using an ARE magnetic rest (like this one Clickers Archery - Archery Equipment Retailer Based In Norwich, UK looked pretty solid) The Soma looks similar to the ARE Quicks Archery but I don't know how good it is.

| Arco Sport Spigarelli magnetic rest - universal. 11.78 from Alternativer Sporting Services.

| I use a spigaflip, a nice compact unit but can be a little difficult to "stick" on the bow in the right place as it doesn't need the button hole. As quick to change as a hoyt super and durable. Mine's lasted a year so far with people I know having used them for many a year. I'd assume you'd be looking for a wrap around rest though.

| I've used an ARE for a while now, it works better than the Spigarelli Magnetico (used for about 5 years) and it easier to set up. I was concerned about the sticky tape but it's holding very well and some top archers I know say that it just doesn't come off - one showed me a Radian from the early 90s which still had a rest of this style which was stuck on when new. This seems to be a case of simpler and very well made - I'd never use a Hoyt Super rest or anything by Cartel though, I'd always be worried that it would fall apart at the worst moment.
