As far as I am aware most risers will only allow an increase in poundage which is normally of the order of about 10%. Thus 38lb@28" will go to 41.8lb@28" etc. All risers are sold with the adjustment at minimum. I use 38lb G3's and they are superb limbs.

hoyt limbs would go from 40 with 5 percent each way as hoyt measure poundage mid way. For most people G# are not worth the extra money. Winact still kick the ass for price.

What I can tell you is going up from 32# to 38# is one heck of a jump. A couple of years ago I went up from 32# to 36# and it took me six months before I felt I had anywhere near the same control over my bow and that was shooting about four times a week on average. Hope you make the right choice and let us know how you get on

Border every time. Anyway, what model Border limbs are they? We may be able to give you some more specific information. However, you should probably try them in any case. You may find the 38lb Borders a little easier to pull than you might expect. As for the weight adjustment, to reiterate what BarryC said, Hoyt limbs in Hoyt risers should give you marked weight with the limb pockets adjusted half way in. The adjustment is roughly 5% up or down from this point, not 5lbs. Other bow companies tend to build for marked weight with the limb bolts all the way out as far as they can go. Things get complicated when you mix and match manufacturers. However, I can tell you that on my Helix with Border limbs I get the marked weight at the middle adjustment, whereas on my PSE riser I get marked weight with the limb bolts out. Depending on where your limb bolts are, you could always crank the poundage up gradually over, say, 6 weeks before winding the bolts out and switching to the Border limbs (or another set, if you go for something else). Good luck ![]()

| I have G3's and I love them - womble has 2 sets and thinks the same, a fair few members at our club have G3's and wouldn't go back. I think it depends on whether you like the speed of them as Slowhand says - they are not the most forgiving, and maybe not best suited for inexperienced archers with dodgy form. I would argue that though as I am not experienced by any means and my release is atrocious at the best of times, but my scores have increased dramatically since Christmas and I'm sure it's not just me!!

Like all things in life a lot of people follow trend. G3's are trendy just now. There are lots of limbs on the market that are just as good for less money. The trick is having the time to try them all properly. A lot of archery gear is baught on faith in the brand and on hear say and trend. Marketing is a strange thing. How things look has a huge influence on how a product sells. The G3 limb looks great. I wonder if they would sell so well if they were all black and dull like say a Petron 3S and dare a I say it, a Border limb? Personally I don't feel they are worth £300+, but they look nice.

black would fit in with my colour scheme better actually!! ![]()

Actually, the G3 colour is very close to the grey colour Border started using several years ago. Funny that ![]()
