When I had a loose limb it was because the dowel wasn't locked properly in the riser and could rotate. This meant the limb didn't sit correctly and could fall out easily, but after being strung it would lock itself in and be almost impossible to remove.

Interesting info guys, I found another cause a few months back with a pair of Winex. These limbs would refuse to come out of the riser (a PSE X-Factor) on minimum poundage, which eventually turned out to be due to the pin in the detent system. This pair had a very long (1mm more than previous limbs - W&W Sidewinder) pin and very stiff springs, which prevented the limb from unclipping properly. The pins and springs were replaced with those out of the previous limbs and we no longer had a problem.

It is possible that the very loose limbs could be due to the opposite - short pin and soft spring.

My Winex go in/out of my Inno riser very easily - not to teh point they might fall out, but such that they don't need much pressure at all to insert or remove.

In contrast, my Epic limbs into my GM are much more of a positive 'click' and need a bit of a push/pull.

Okay, its alright now. Nothing much as some of you have said that as long as theres a "click" is should be fine. I have tried shooting with my current set-up and there's no problem with it. Thanks guys

I think that would come under the heading of "too easy" - the "fixed" limbs clip in and out as one would normally expect them to.

Does go to show that care should be taken with these things though!

Could the limbs be removed with the force of two fingers? That seems too loose.
Or could the tiller bolt be too far out?

Hi Samicko

I've found that I'm able to remove any of the limbs I've had on my helix by just moving the limb butt up and down the dowel about the detent as a pivot point while applying a tiny pulling force on the limbs away from the riser. The limbs I've tried on my riser include, Samick Masters, innos, winex, Kaps etc.

Then again if I go the brute force route, sometimes the limbs would seem impossible to remove, this being true with the samick masters I've tried. I'd say that as long as the limb can hold its own weight without falling off the riser, all is fine.

Which my new ones don't. I'm getting new longer springs for mine to stiffen the springy bit.

Samick limbs are always tight for my case, for which i have tried extremes and universal as well as my friend's masters. Sometimes, i would have problem getting them out but its still okay. I never really compared the spring tension of different manufacturers. Btw, where do you find the type spring suitable?
