Help -SF Carbon Pro sight

Hello All,

Can anyone tell me if there is anywhere where you can buy spare parts for the Sebastien Flute Carbon Pro sight.
I will own up and say that I have cross threaded the sight pin and cannot get the pin out. The windage pin moves across freely but the pin itself just moves along with, there is no reduction.
It could be a very costly error on my part as previously I was having difficulty moving the pin, very grainy when I turned the dial so did not think too much when I put the pin back afer removing it (why did I do that?) and there was some resistance when I screwed it back in.
Currently on a big downer at the moment so any comments including the obvious ones, would be most welcome !!

Cheers,
Paul

Any archery dealer that sells SF products will be able to order in the spare parts you require.

Just be very careful when you take it apart.

Hello WhitehartFB,

Thanks for the information, much appreciated as I wasn't sure you could get spare parts.
I brought the sight from a shop last year so will give them a call tomorrow.
I will need to get a whole new slide/pin holder and a new pin or break down the slider to the barrel thats cross threaded and will be careful with the small spring and ball bearing?
Hopefully my normal service will be resumed soon shooting wise but not sure a new pin etc. will help me

Thanks again.
Paul

just to note - this happened to me too. Almost as though the two threaded parts of the pin holder were out of synch. Anyhow I had to drill one side out and ignore it and apply a good does of WD40 - been fine since. I did try and contact SF about parts and got ignored - a shop responded with a work-around.

Like Hoyt and Easton and a lot of manufacturers they prefer you to go via a dealer and tbh it is much quicker and easier to do so. The part you require looks like it's a stock item so turn around should be quick. The thread is standard 8/32 so you are not restricted to the SF sight pin (Beiter, SF, Spiga, Shibuya, Arten Cartel etc will all fit).

Actually the part I required is apparently not available as a spare. As the manufacturer, and subsequently the dealer, couldn't offer any kind of help then when I finally give up on this particular item then I will be looking elsewhere in terms of maker and seller.

Hi WhitehartFB and Tel,

I will call a shop and see how the land lies but hopefully the whole assembly may be available as a spare?
I do have a Beiter pin which I can use as a replacement.
Not confident enough to attempt drilling it out as power tools and me don't mix .
I did contact SF direct but like Tel don't expect to get a response so hoping a shop may come up with the goods or will try another dealer like Perris.

Fingers crossed and thanks again.

Paul

Yes, SF have very poor customer service and do not respond to questions/requests etc.

I love my SF carbon pro sight but could do with a longer sight arm (horizontal) I e-mailed them to ask if it was possible to get one of these and they did not even have the courtesy to respond to my mail message

Ah - well I only wanted one like I already had - only straight - too much to ask apparently. Like I said, next time I'll be looking elsewhere (unfortunate because some of the kit appeals - oh, well !)

Hi All,

I have contacted a shop and they are going to take a look the sight and hopefully might be able to sort it out.
I spoke to Tony who was really helpful.

I have actually received an email from SF Archery who basically mentions referring back to the dealer etc. but I did get an answer

I'll keep you dated as now off for a weeks holiday.

Paul
