sight pin problem

after spending yesterday with my sight pin doing summersaults after every 2-3 shots (well at least one an end) i have been trying to come up with a way of making it stay put. someone did manage to make it stay put for nearly a dozen but that was the best we could manage

now no drastic actions please....its a club recurve and sight which i will probably be using for a little while yet. it has a bog standard cartel sight pin.

i had thought about investing in a second nut to lock the sight pin nut in place but i dont know how to figure out what size i need... (any other workable solutions would be most welcome!)

thanks.

felix

A bit of masking tape should hold it. Just wrap part of it round the sight pin thread and stick the other part to the sight block.

hah, thats such a simple way of doing it! thanks a lot, ill give it a whirl this afternoon.

but keep the ideas coming and ill give them all a field trial. using the club arrows as avaliable means i have to wind it in or out depending on which i get my hands on

A small spring/locking washer is what I used on my daughters simple sight.

As for the nut, recurve sight pins are threaded 8/32".

Any 'B&Q Rip me Off' or 'Hardware' store will more than likely have them in stock.....

8/32 screws and nuts are a speciality. Try a blob of Blu-Tac, it may even act as a doinker and reduce the vibration on the sight pin.
