Question Bi-Delta Vanes on Recurve

Hi all,

I've decided its time to change the fletchins on my ACC's as everyone seems to have chosen the same colour combination as me and they are getting a bit tatty.

I like the look of the Bi-delta vanes, I have seen them shot from compounds and was wondering whether they would be suitable for use with a Recurve?

If not whats everyones opinion on the other choice of flecthings, spinwing, K-vanes, Flex-flectch, x-vanes, etc? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers all

I know of at least one Olympic recurve shooter who uses them and doesn't seem to have any problems or complaints.

I personally prefer Flex-Fletch vanes, despite the extra prep work needed to get them to stick. They hold up very well to rough usage (field archery).

Hey Pilky, you made it onto AI i see! Im using spinwings too, they are a bit high maintenance but maybe thats me being picky and replacing them too soon. My groups are better with them than the x-vanes i used before so i will stick with them and put up with the refletching i guess

Thanks all, maybe i'll buy some and see how they perform.

Simon I must admit its seeing them on you arrows at GDB that raised them as a possibility.

Once again thanks all, any further advice will be taken on board as I won't get chance to order them till the weekend.

Smile

I've used the large bi-deltas on Easton XX75 arrow, and I think they worked quite well.

Shot my Portsmouth PB (575) with them. They seem to straighten up the arrow quicker than normal plastifletch, although this is probably an unfair comment as the plastifletch I used before were smaller.

Look cool too (I think)!
