SF Carbon Pro Sight Problem

I was wondering if anyone has come across this problem?

My other half uses the SF Carbon Pro Sight and was noticing his arrows going further right the greater the distance he was shooting. When he looked at the sight he noticed the extension bar was twisted which resulted in the sight bar running from top right to bottom left. He does not think it was twisted like this last year as he never had this problem. Is it possible for stresses created in the extension bar during manufacturing to cause the bar to start to twist over time? The sight is just over a year old.

Has anyone else come across something similar or have any ideas?

Thanks for your help.

I have mentioned a similar problem in a couple of threads. In my case I was adjusting windage regularly as I came down the distances and had convinced myself (limited experience!) that there was something 'odd' I was doing form-wise that caused it. Eventually the penny dropped - 20 clicks left at 80, 20 back again at 60...the carbon arm is curved - not massively, but enough. As the symptoms have always been there I have to assume it was always curved. SF haven't commented & the supplier suggested I stop moving the extension......

Having read both these posts, the words 'Sale of Goods Act' and 'merchantable quality' come to mind...

If no joy from the retailer, try contacting Win and Win (who make the SF kit) direct. Let them know that through the miracle of the internet, 5000-plus archers in the UK, Europe, the USA, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand are waiting with baited breath to see how good their customer service is and whether SF kit is worth buying.

Nothing like an audience to focus the mind...

Carbon extensions are sometimes twisted, as are the carbon "cable guards" on some compounds. However with carbon pieces this twist is normally from the manufacturing process, so if you think that it has twisted since buying it then it may be damaged. If you have been advised to stop moving the extension then I would recommend replacing the sight - it's an important part and you don't want it to twist further.

I don't think the sight is made by W&W. A friend has one and it resembles my Arc Système SX10 in several details.

Cool

I had one of these sights for one day. I traveled 100 mile round trip to get it and had to do the same trip the next day. The twist in my sights extention was horrendous. I got a shibuya because I couldn't trust the SF again.
Nick
PS the shibuya is great and was only £30 more
