A shameless plea for help on risers

So, I've been out of the sport for some 6 years, give or take. I need a new bow. I was looking at either a W&W Winact, a Samick Athlete, or a SF Super Forged.

I know W&W seem to be tried & tested, the Athlete looks new and interesting, and I'm intriged by the SF, plus it's cheaper!

I was always quite good, I'm not aiming to go to Beijing or London or anything, but I'm a competitive person and I don't want my gear to hold me back.

Any opinions or experiences? Currently I'm shooting a wooden takedown that's older than me, and doing quite well with mis-matched arrows, so I think I can adapt to new kit quite well! Therefore more concerned over what might be "best" rather than "what suits me".

Oh, and if anyone has any pics of said bows, that would be lovely - I am also a little vain (it's got to look good in black or silver)

Thanks very much in advance

Ta - the Winact seems to have the nicest paint, that's for sure!! I can never tell what they'd look like with limbs on though. I keep veering from one favourite to another

Get down to your local shop and try all 3 after all looks may help in the mental stakes but if it don't feel right in the hand it will drive you mental

And welcome back to the sport

Riser

The SF seems like really good value at the minute - I've seen it for £115 I think. Don't know the Athlete. Shot a Winact for a long time now and like it very much - very good (anodised) paint finish on the 25 inch ones. Light weight too, which suits me, anyway.

Limbs on - here

There is now the SF pro riser too, Sebastien Flute SF Pro Riser - Custom Built Archery

Which has a better alignment system, but does cost quite a bit more.

Thanks Rhys - that does look interesting - and while it's "more expensive" it's only the same as the others I'm looking at!

So, important questions..... which do we think is prettiest?

Serioulsy though - I do need to get myself to a shop somehow! I get that. Still would appreciate anyone's experiences though.

Just though i'd add my 2 pence worth, I shoot a W&W Winact and have done for the past 16 months, i find it a fantastic med range bow. I'm shooting comfortale around first class scores and the only thing holding me back is me. I know my opinion is biassed and I haven't shot the others, but though I would give my opinion as a winact user.

Oh and mine looks fantastic in Black.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. My girlfriend's Samick Athlete is so pretty and has a really nice, solid feel to it. Try as many as you can!

The Black anodised Winact is a really good looking/performing bow.
