Hybrid Chest Guard from Arrowhead UK

With my Angel chestguard coming to the end of it's useful life I have recently acquired a Hybrid Chestguard from Arrowhead UK AKA OB, following discussions with OB.

I like the design and the thinking behind the chest guard never really though much about chestguards in the past apart from fit and color. The Chest guard comes with the normal mesh with a special area at the front which is completely smooth, thus reducing any chance of the string getting caught on the mesh the chest guard it's self is very supportive and has a very good feel about.

It's something that in 20yrs of shooting I have never ever thought of the affects of the chest guard on my string.

Just thought I would post my comments in the review section.

I have one also and am very pleased with it. The smooth section causes much less (perhaps none?) interference with the string compared to the mesh versions of chest guards. I think I read in the Heretic Archer that Frangili used to put a plastic sticker over the mesh part of his chestguard where there was any possibility of string contact. I guess for the same reason.

I have one of these too. To be honest, I hadn't been shooting long enough before that to really notice any difference, but on paper it seems logical enough.

Looks cool too

Thumbs up

I use to use a smooth green chest guard (15years back), I think it was a Petron.
When I restarted I could only find a mesh guards. Immediately I noticed the string occasionally grabbed the mesh, some actually felt sticky. Chatting to GreenSteve he mentioned the Hybrid chestguard from Arrowhead.

I can absolutely recommend them. Very good quality, good fit and an excellent price.

Damm right I will. Afterall, who needs sight marks or tuning? They've never helped before!
