| Zip Strip tool Just venturing into the wonderful world of fletching. Peter at Quicks recommended the Zip Strip, as they use it in the shop, and I figured it was a safe bet as I'm clumsy and would probably take my thumb off if I used a knife. More expensive that other stripping tools, but is very solid, easy to use, and it strips in a zip just like it says on the tin!

| I have seen this tool advertised. It does look like it will do the job well. I am tempted to buy one but the replacable blade craftknives that I use do a good job in my hands, quickly without doing any damage. If I had to strip fletches on a large scale regularly, well maybe I would purchase one. I have thought about altering the blades I use by grinding a radial recess in the blade with a powered water grinder, but what I use works as is. |

| If you use a Swann & Morton scalpel, curved blades are available for those, albeit with a wider radius than is required for a shaft. T.

| Tarks So do I but you have to very careful with carbons as you can easily damage the surface if the blade is new. |

| I don't use them on arrows - I have a saunders stripper, I just know they exist - I use(d) them for a different hobby.. T

| Buy a Zip-Strip Cliki - you will never regret it. The only piece of kit that really does live up to the hype. Worth every penny. It safely removes all fletchings and glues, including AEE fastset, and it also removes wraps and crestings that are otherwise a real pain. I have damaged carbons with knife blades, but never with the Zip.

| I was worried about stripping vanes from carbon arrows so starting using wraps. They are very easy to remove, the only disadvantage I've found is that I have to replace all three vanes, even when only one was damaged. |
